X-Force Just Rediscovered the Most Shocking Avengers Lineup of All Time
[[{“value”:”
The following contains major spoilers for X-Force #4, on sale now from Marvel Comics.
Marvel’s most proactive team of mutant heroes have just landed themselves in a fight with a Multiversal lineup of Avengers.
X-Force #4 picks up right where the previous issue left off, with the eponymous team still fighting back against the threat of the towering Nuklo who has been raging across Cambodia. Unfortunately for X-Force, not a single member of the team has been able to land a meaningful strike against their irradiated foe. After a trip through Otherworld and back, when it begins to look like the heroes have a fighting chance, another team steps in to put a stop to the fight for them, and the Avengers of Earth-9105 are none too happy about the intrusion.
Emma Frost Stole Another X-Men Icon’s Team
Two iconic X-Men have wildly different influences on Marvel’s new generation of mutants — and it’s becoming a serious problem.

First seen in the pages of 1991’s New Warriors #11 by writer Fabian Nicieza and artist Mark Bagley, the Avengers of Earth-9105 consisted of Iron Man, Storm, Captain Assyria, Horus, Sceptre, and Nova. These Avengers were fiercely loyal to their world’s reality-warping Sphinx, who derived her mystic powers from long periods of exposure to the ancient Ka Stone. Though these Avengers’ earliest appearances were short-lived, they would return years later to play a part in Kurt Busiek and Roger Stern’s sprawling 1999 series – Avengers: Forever.
After the fall of Krakoa, mutants all across the globe were left without a proper home to call their own. While many settled down in various cities, Forge took it upon himself to form a new team of heroes who would preemptively avert various world-ending crises. To that end, Forge created a device known as the Analog, which calculates and quantifies these threats, giving the team clear signals to follow without any real details as to what exactly they are headed into on any given mission.
A New War Between Wolverine and Spider-Man Begins
The Spider-Man of 2099 is going to war with the most powerful version of Wolverine that fans have ever seen and their fight will determine everything.
Apart from Forge himself, this new iteration of X-Force includes some major mutant powerhouses. The most prominent of these are likely Captain Britain and Askani, each of whom have more than cemented their respective places in the Marvel Universe. The team also includes Sage, the enigmatic Tank, and Noriko Ashida, aka Surge. Although Surge has proven to be a benefit to the team on more than one occasion, she was never actually invited to be a member of Forge’s X-Force, instead inviting herself after crossing paths with them on an early mission.
