Skybound has unveiled a first-look preview of Transformers #11. In Daniel Warren Johnson and Jorge Corona’s upcoming issue, Optimus Prime is humankind and the Autobots’ last hope.
Skybound’s Transformers #11 preview highlights the budding friendship between Arcee and Carly. The issue’s brief synopsis reads, “Only Optimus Prime can save Earth and Cybertron. But will all of the Autobots stand with him?” In addition to the main cover by Johnson and series colorist Mike Spicer, the list of variant covers for Transformers #11 includes an open-to-order cover by series artist Corona and Spicer, an incentive variant continuing the connecting cover series by Karen S. Darboe (Bloodline: Daughter of Blade), and two other incentive variant covers by artists Ludo Lullabi (Battle Chasers), and Wes Craig (Kaya).

The Transformers and G.I Joe shared Energon Universe officially began last summer with the surprise first appearance of iconic Transformers character Jetfire inVoid Rivalsby Robert Kirkman (Invincible, The Walking Dead), Lorenzo De Felici (Kroma), and Mateus Lopes (Step by Bloody Step). Johnson (Extremity, Do a Powerbomb, DC’s Wonder Woman: Dead Earth), Corona (Middlewest), and Spicer kicked off a brand-new Transformers era for the iconic franchise. The Energon Universe further expanded with the launch of Josh Williamson’s Duke and Cobra Commander limited series.
The most recent additions to the Energon Universe include Scarlett, from writer Kelly Thompson (Black Widow, Birds of Prey), artist Marco Ferrari (Frontiersman), and colorist Lee Loughridge (I Hate This Place, Killadelphia); and Destro, from writer Dan Watters (Loki, Universal Monsters: Creature from the Black Lagoon Lives!), artist Andrei Bressan (Dark Ride, Birthright), and colorist Adriano Lucas (Dark Ride, Birthright), which introduce the iconic characters of the G.I. JOE and Cobra factions.

Set to be released as part of the new The Transformers: MPG series, a new Optimus Prime figure showcases the Autobot leader in his darkest form yet: Shattered Glass Optimus Prime. Although based on an existing toy, the new Optimus figure is a grim mirror of the famous Cybertronian. Hailing from a dark universe where expectations are cruelly inverted, the upcoming Prime figure proves that freedom might not be the right of all sentient beings after all.
Transformers #11 will arrive in comic book shops on August 14, 2024.
