Marvel Comics is celebrating the MCU Disney+ series Agatha All Along with a Marvel Studios Variant Cover. The variant cover will grace Scarlet Witch #6, which arrives this November.

Greg Hopewood’s Marvel Studios Variant Cover, based on the WandaVision spinoff series, depicts the fan-favorite Kathryn Hahn iteration of Agatha Harkness in all her stylish, witchy glory. The variant cover will adorn Steve Orlando and Lorenzo Tammetta’s upcoming Scarlet Witch issue, which has Wanda Maximoff take on a new pupil at Agatha’s request. Marvel‘s Scarlet Witch #6 description reads, “It’s the debut of Amaranth! But where did the young sorceress come from? And what could have spooked Agatha into giving up the chance to mentor her?”

Orlando’s current run on Scarlet Witch began in June. “Scarlet Witch has been a dream job, and getting to return to her once again and continue Wanda’s adventures is something I could never say no to,” the writer said. The series continues to test the limits of Wanda’s magic as she becomes the Marvel Universe’s prime defender against old and new deadly mystical threats.

Kathryn Hahn’s Fan-Favorite Portrayal of Agatha Harkness

Agatha All Along creator and showrunner Jac Schaeffer recently discussed how Hahn gave life to the Agatha character she first made famous on the acclaimed MCU show WandaVision. “It wasn’t really about seeing her do it. It was the early conversations when we first started,” Schaeffer said. “I’m familiar enough with her impressive body of work to know how funny she is and how ballsy and brassy and all of that. But I loved the questions that she asked and the way she unpacked the core of this woman,” she added.

Spider-Gwen Just Teamed Up With the MCU’s Coolest Street-Level Hero

Spider-Gwen is teaming up with the best street-level superhero that the Marvel Universe has to offer — and the two of them are near-unstoppable.

Though Agatha possesses many facets, which Hahn ably portrays, the showrunner wanted to focus on the witch’s ferocity and savagery. “(Agatha All Along)was my first time directing (Hahn), and every director should be so lucky. I love the changes in her face and physicality, the way she can swing so gracefully between comedy and drama,” Schaeffer said.

The Agatha All Along creator continued, “But there’s a ferocity to her Agatha. There’s this desperate hunger that she’s able to embody, that I find captivating. As we were editing and working in (post-production), that was what I wanted to draw out. We have all the comedy, and we know that works, but we wanted to pull out that savagery. I think that’s what elevates the show, and it’s all Kathryn Hahn.”

Scarlet Witch #6 arrives in comic book shops on November 20, 2024.
