The following contains major spoilers for X-Force #2, on sale now from Marvel Comics.
The most proactive X-Team to Rise from the Ashes after Krakoa’s fall has just invaded one of the most dangerous and beautiful places on Earth.
X-Force #2 finds the eponymous team of heroes being dragged halfway across the world by their fearless leader Forge in the hopes of preventing whatever new calamity awaits. Unfortunately for them, this means leaping headfirst into the jungles of Wakanda without knowing what they are about to encounter. Worse still, even Forge’s best attempts at stealth are no match for the supernatural storm he has just flown his team straight into the heart of, and there is zero chance of them making anything close to a smooth landing.
The X-Men’s Original Nemesis has a Dangerous New Protégé

X-Force has had numerous iterations over the years, with its first incarnation debuting in 1991’s New Mutants #100 by creators Rob Liefeld and Fabian Nicieza. Led by Cable, the first X-Force served as a freedom fighting force, taking on whatever missions might better serve the liberation of mutants wherever possible. These missions frequently pitted Cable and X-Force against the villainous mutant known as Stryfe, who was a future iteration of Cable.
In the years since then, X-Force has been reimagined as a mutant strike team consisting of Arcangel, Wolverine, Deadpool, Fantomex, and Psylocke, who helped wage war against the ongoing threat of Apocalypse. This version of the team was followed by the Krakoan X-Force, which took on many of the same goals as both of its predecessors as the mutant nation’s very own intelligence agency. Krakoa’s X-Force was originally overseen by Beast. However, his fall from grace and downward spiral into villainy quickly made him a pariah among his fellow mutants.
Venom Puts a Horrifying Spin on a Spider-Verse Fan-Favorite
One of the most popular Spidersonas in the entire Multiverse is being dragged into the middle of a horrifying symbiote storyline.
In the wake of the end of the Krakoan Era, Forge has taken the reins of X-Force and pushed the team in a new direction entirely. Alongside Sage, Betsy Braddock, Rachel Summers, Surge, and the enigmatic Tank, Forge is waging a personal crusade to fix the world in any way he can. To that end, Forge created the Analog, a device that is somehow capable of predicting potentially world-ending threats and events before they can do any irreparable harm.
