Teenage Mutants Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed Releases New Trailer

[[{“value”:”

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are back with another video game, now set for release later this year. Based on the most recent Mutant Mayhem incarnations of the characters, players will be able to save NYC solo or with a friend.

The official announcement trailer can be watched on YouTube, with the game being released on all major platforms. Set directly after the events of the Mutant Mayhem film, the turtles still have to deal with the aftermath and clean up New York’s underbelly. This will involve fighting a whole new host of mutants as something nefarious spreads throughout the city. Naturally, as a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game, players will be able to choose between Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo. A bit more immature compared to some of their previous iterations, the turtles will have to prove yet again that they’re up to the challenge.

Why One Legendary Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Story Is Perfect for the Next Film

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will return to the big screen with an adaptation of a comic book perfect for the franchise’s future.

There have been plenty of TMNT games in recent years, with a solid amount of variety to them. Releasing just next week is Splinter’s Fate, a roguelite title for the Nintendo Switch. The turtles’ latest arcade-style beat ’em up, Shredder’s Revenge, was very well received and launched an expansion just last year. Now, Mutants Unleashed will cover the action-platformer demographic, with the turtles being able to maneuver in tandem ninja style. While only seen in short snippets, the gameplay does show some of the turtles skating on stair rails and jumping across multiple vehicles.

What might be more obvious is the action half of the game. Of course, each member of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will offer a unique weapon style, which has generally translated to somewhat different playstyles in past games. Based on that, it can be easy to assume what each turtle will bring to the table. Leonardo will be an all-rounder with a good way to tackle every situation. Raphael would be the most aggressive turtle with the biggest damage all around. Donatello would be able to keep enemies at a distance with his long reach, and may even have his own gadgets to help him out. Mikey would then be the agile one, using his twin nunchucks to deal out quick attacks.
