Marvel Announces New San Diego Comic-Con Panels, Booth and More

Marvel announces a host of new panels, booths, and other features for San Diego Comic-Con.
Per a July 15 announcement from Marvel, the publisher announced that not only will they be returning to San Diego Comic-Con, but they will be bringing a slew of creator panels, signings, and various other programs along with them. Things kick off on Thursday, July 25, with “Marvel Rivals: The Story, Art and Sound of the Game,” which will be hosted by NetEase Games Lead Narrative Designer Jinghua Duan, Art Director Dino Ma, Narrative Designer Donger Gan, as well as Marvel Games Executive Producer Danny Koo, Creative Development Manager Dakota Maysonet, and Senior Art Director Dan LaDuca.
The New Ultimates are About to Kick Off Marvel’s Next Civil War
Marvel’s newest team of Ultimates are going to war for the future of their world — and it could cost Captain America his country along the way.
This opening panel will be followed by a Hall H panel entitled “Marvel Studios: The Ultimate Deadpool and Wolverine Celebration of Life,” which closes out Marvel’s Thursday showings. On Friday, fans can catch “Marvel Fanfar with C.B. Cebulski & Kevin Feige,” which will bring the Marvel Comics Editor-in-Chief together with the Marvel Studios President for a discussion about their love of both the publisher as a whole. The panel will include appearances from “some special surprise creators.” The panel will be followed by “MARVEL COMICS: Next Big Thing,” featuring Cebulski and VP of Digital Media & Creative Strategy, Ryan Penagos. Friday’s final event is an exclusive playthrough of the Marvel Multiverse Role-Playing Game hosted by Glass Cannon Network.
Saturday’s offerings begin with “MARVEL COMICS: X-Men: From the Ashes,” which brings together Cebulski and Executive Editor Tom Brevoort with all-star creators including Gail Simone, Collin Kelly, Jackson Lanzing, Mark Russell, and Declan Shelvey to present an “uncanny panel featuring first looks, behind-the-scenes reveals, and thrilling announcements.” Saturday also includes a special presentation from Kevin Feige and guests, who will “provide an inside look at the ever-expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe..”

Exploring Spider-Man’s latest adventures, Marvel treats the Web-slinger’s fans to thrilling comics every week.
Marvel’s panels at SDCC close out on Sunday with “Women in Marvel,” in which “talent from across the Marvel universe will assemble to talk about breaking in as a creative, building a career in nerd spaces, how fandom has changed, and being a part of Marvel’s 85-year legacy.” Marvel will also have a new booth at the event, that features “the best of Marvel’s comics, games, movies and more with games demos, costumes from Marvel Studios’ hit movies, photo ops and more.” On top of everything, attendees can catch Marvel’s numerous experiences throughout SDCC, including “Funko’s Pop!-Up Experience,” which allows fans to “imagine themselves as Deadpool or Wolverine and get exclusive accessories and merchandise.”
The first SDCC presented as the Golden State Comic Book Convention, took place in 1970, with the March event serving as a fund-raising event for the larger, full convention launched in August that year. Since then, the event has been held every year, with some years featuring a second, smaller convention in the fall. Marvel has long had a presence at SDCC, with many of the publisher’s most popular titles in recent years being revealed during the event.
San Diego Comic-Con runs from July 25 to July 28.
