G.I. Joe Series Reveals “Game Changer” for the Energon Universe

The penultimate issue of Skybound’s ScarlettG.I. Joe miniseries will reveal a “game changer” for the entire Energon Universe. The hit miniseries is written by Kelly Thompson with art by Marco Ferrari.

Skybound and Image Comics revealed a lineup of variant covers and a preview of the interior art for Scarlett #4 that shows Scarlett infiltrating the Arashikage to locate and extract Jinx. The true purpose of her best friend’s mission now becomes clear — and the entire Energon Universe may be changed as a result. Scarlett #4 goes on sale Sept. 4 and includes a variety of variant covers including an open to order cover by Yasmine Putri, the fourth cover in a 1:10 connecting series by Gleb Melnikov, as well as 1:25 and 1:50 incentive covers by Vasco Georgiev and Chuma Hill respectively.

Skybound’s Scarlett miniseries kicked off earlier this year as Shana “Scarlett” O’Hara went on a dangerous black ops mission to infiltrate the Arashikage Clan, having only one lead: her former partner Jinx, who is now an Arashikage enforcer. Scarlett is the last of the four action-packed G.I. Joe miniseries from Skybound introducing the iconic characters of the franchise into the shared Energon Universe.

The Energon Universe Includes G.I. Joe, Transformers and Void Rivals

The game-changing events of Scarlett #4 will likely be felt across a variety of Skybound’s other comics set in the Energon Universe, which includes G.I. Joe, Transformers and Void Rivals. The shared universe celebrated its one-year anniversary earlier this year. In the press release for Scarlett #4, Skybound teased that every issue set in the universe will include can’t-miss moments, “as secrets are unveiled along the path to answering the BIG questions from some of the biggest franchises in comics today.”
