The following contains spoilers for Venom War: Spider-Man #1, on sale next week.

The Venom War continues to rage on, and Spider-Man has been caught up in the battle between Eddie Brock, and his son, Dylan, over determining who will control the Venom symbiote. For now, though, the symbiote has re-bonded with Spider-Man, and the bond has been strange, as they are revisiting past conflicts with each other, while trying to move forward as a pair. In this CBR exclusive preview of Venom War: Spider-Man #3, we see how Spider-Man and the symbiote might bond even FURTHER.

Venom War: Spider-Man #3 is from writers Jackson Lanzing and Colin Kelly, penciler Greg Land, inker Jay Leisten, colorist Frank D’Armata, and letterer Joe Caramagna, and it shows Spider-Man and the symbiote essentially fighting together in Peter Parker’s mind.

EXCLUSIVE: Marvel Reveals a First Look at Its Horrifying New Mix of Zombies and Symbiotes

In a CBR exclusive reveal, Marvel shares a first look of its terrifying new Venom War tie-in, Zombiotes – zombie symbiotes!

In the preview pages, the Venom symbiote explains how Dylan Brock needed it in a way that Spider-Man never did, and that therefore they formed a much different bond. In Spider-Man’s case, the symbiote was drawn to Spider-Man’s strength, but in the case of Dylan Brock, it was the fact that the symbiote was NEEDED to help him, therefore flipping the script on their relationship.

Also, the symbiote explains that despite Spider-Man thinking that he knows everything about the symbiote due to their past together, but the symbiote explains that just because things worked out like that in the past it doesn’t mean that it will work out again here. The symbiote then notably explained that Peter hadn’t even really seen its true face, and it reveals it to him in this final page of the preview.

The symbiote is intending to have Peter fully merge with it, and if he gives into it completely, they might fully become a new version of The King in Black. That, of course, could throw a whole new wrench into the gears of the Venom War, so you have to find out next week in Venom War: Spider-Man #3.
