CBR has a first look at Fantastic Four #25, with series writer Ryan North discussing how the characters ended up on an alien planet and what’s next for the series. Fantastic Four #25 is a double-sized milestone issue that goes on sale this September.
A preview of the issue’s interior pages shows the team’s arrival on the mysterious planet, along with Johnny Storm bonding with one of the native lifeforms, which will later lead to the two hooking up and complicating things for the team. The Fantastic Four’s adventures on the alien world will see a terrible secret be revealed, with billions of lives depending on what the group decides to do next. Fantastic Four #25 goes on sale Sept. 11.

CBR: Can you further elaborate on how The Fantastic Four magically end up on an alien planet in #25?
Ryan North: I don’t want to spoil too much, but it has something to do with the last page of Fantastic Four #22: Doctor Doom has gained the powers of Sorcerer Supreme, and he, I think it’s fair to say, carries a bit of a grudge against The Fantastic Four.
What was the reasoning behind Johnny Storm’s alien “hook up” and how does it affect The Fantastic Four’s already complicated situation?
It’s simple: he fell in love! He’s the only one in The Fantastic Four who isn’t married, and while he’s got a history of hookups and breakups, I think he feels things just as deeply as they do. The guy wasn’t expecting to fall in love, but sometimes it just happens!
Marvel’s New Uncanny X-Men are Up Against a Mythical Threat
The latest lineup of Uncanny X-Men arrive on the scene of their first mission — and it means going up against a classic draconic threat.
What can you tease for the series after this milestone issue?
Well, I’ve got issues written out past #33, which is almost a year out from now. We’re getting a fun Johnny/Reed story in #26 for Halloween — always a pleasure because of how those two click together — and after that, there’s a Nicki story and Ben story that I think is really special. So lots of big ideas, big sci-fi, big explosions, and some crazy twists! And we’ll get to spend some time with Valeria and Namor too. There’s lots to tease, but I don’t want to ruin it!
