A big part of Miles Morales’ character ever since he made his debut over ten years ago has been his Puerto Rican background (Miles’ father is Black, and his mother is Puerto Rican), and in this year’s Miles Morales: Spider-Man Annual #1, Miles and his family are going on a family vacation together to Puerto Rico, and CBR has the exclusive first look at interior pages from the annual, which comes out next month.
The regular writer of Miles Morales: Spider-Man, Cody Ziglar, will be writing the main story in the annual, with art by David Baldeón. The back-up stories in the Annual will be by Curtis Baxter and Alitha E. Martinez, and Danny Lore and Elena Casagrande.

As you can see from the first look pages, the whole issue is centered around the visit to Puerto Rico, with that awesome page by Baldeon of Miles walking in front of the giant Puerto Rican flag at the airport. However, you can’t have a superhero just go on a family vacation without some intrigue, right? And these pages suggest that there might be something sketchy going on during their visit.
Spider-Man: Miles Morales Becomes the Blood Hunt’s Biggest Threat
One of the greatest Web-Slingers of all time, Miles Morales, officially steps into the lime light in Marvel’s Blood Hunt.
Which two heroes does Miles team up with in the backup stories in MIles Morales: Spider-Man Annual #1?
In the back-up stories in the Annual, we see Storm team up with two major Marvel heroes. The first one (in the story by Curtis Baxter and Alitha E. Martinez) is the newly minted Avenger, Storm….
and the second story shows Miles teaming up with Bloodline (the daughter of Blade), in a story by Danny Lore and Elena Casagrande….
Due to Miles’ recent stint as a vampire during Blood Hunt, this team-up probably has a good deal more edge to it than Miles’ team-up with Storm (although it is unclear when this story is set in continuity).
Miles Morales: Spider-Man Annual #1 is set to be released on August 21st.
