Breakout BOOM! Horror Hit Gets Second Printing

A breakout horror comic from BOOM! Studios will go back to press for a second printing after selling out at the distributor level. The publisher describes the original story The Creeping Below as “Swamp Thing meets The Crow.”
The Creeping Below is a revenge story with black metal, magic and Norse mythology. The solicit for the series reads, “When Val, an American metalhead attending a music festival abroad in Oslo, is victimized and killed at the hands of a charismatically evil local black metal band, the Old Gods of Norse Mythology raise her up and guide along the path of brutal vengeance in the name of women everywhere. But will she walk the warriors path, or become something far more terrible?”

BOOM! Studios shared news of The Creeping Below #1’s second printing, which will feature cover art by series artist Vanessa Del Rey. The second printing will be available in stores on Nov. 27.

The Creeping Below features an all-star creative team of Brian Azzarello and Vanessa Del Rey. Azzarello is an Eisner Award-winning artist known for the DC Veritgo imprint title 100 Bullets as well as Joker, Batman: Damned, the long-running Vertigo Hellblazer series and DC’s New 52 Wonder Woman title. Del Rey also has a long-running history in comics, with her notable works including Marvel’s Scarlet Witch, Miles Morales: Spider-Man and Moon Knight: Black, White & Blood.
BOOM! Studios to Publish More Original Horror Series
The Creeping Below isn’t the only new original horror series BOOM! Studios has to offer for comic book fans. The publisher recently announced a brand-new horror series by writer Gus Moreno titled When I Lay My Vengeance Upon Thee. The new title is a gritty police procedural that features the “iconography of religious horror”. The story stars Father Barrera, a disgraced priest who is haunted by his dark past. As Barrera faces exile in remote South America, he accompanies an exorcist on a haunting mission that finds him face to face with terrifying forces of evil.

One of the most iconic Batman villains of all time has just revealed the true extent of his cruelty, and it is absolutely heartbreaking.
In addition to The Creeping Below and When I Lay My Vengeance Upon Thee, BOOM! Studios is home to many critically acclaimed original series, including Keanu Reeves‘ BRZRKR, James Tynion IV’s Something is Killing the Children and R.L. Stine’s Stuff of Nightmares. The imprint also publishes stories from many popular licensed properties, including the Dune franchise’s Dune: House Corrino comics, a Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series and The Expanse: Dragon Tooth.
