First seen in the pages of Blood Hunt #1 by Jed MacKay and Pepe Larraz, the Bloodcoven consists of superpowered vampires including Megrim, Cruel, Unusual, Smoke Eater, and the Damascene. These five are led by Bloodstorm One, a clone of Dracula himself created decades ago by HYDRA’s Department of Occult Affairs. While Bloodstorm One was a powerhouse unto himself, he was never the same sort of threat as the original Dracula. During a battle with the Nightstalkers, Bloodstorm One was possessed by the true Dracula before he was seemingly destroyed altogether.
The Bloodcoven rose up as the foremost vampiric villains of Marvel’s Blood Hunt besides Blade, who had been possessed by the very first vampire, Varnae. Under Varnae’s control, Blade led an army of vampires in blacking out the skies all across the globe and terrorizing the world’s human population. Unsurprisingly, the Blood Hunt was ultimately unsuccessful, yet had lasting consequences for the Marvel Universe, including imbuing the world’s vampires with a newfound immunity to sunlight. As such, the work of the Blood Hunters team has continued long after Varnae’s latest defeat, as droves of vampires continue to threaten the world both day and night.
Marvel’s Venom War Gives Deadpool a Painful Reminder
Marvel’s Venom War has reached the Monster Metropolis — and Man-Thing uses it as an opportunity to show off his true power.
Alison Blaire, better known as the Dazzler, made her Marvel Comics debut all the way back in 1979’s Uncanny X-Men #130 by Chris Claremont and John Byrne. As an up-and-coming pop star, Dazzler used her mutant powers to harness sound and convert those energies into light as a means of providing otherwise impossible stage effects for her various performances. Over the years, Dazzler has become one of the most beloved members of the X-Men, not to mention a pop sensation unto herself. Following the end of the Krakoan Era, Dazzler has decided to hit the road once again, now touring with fellow X-Veterans Domino, Multiple Man, Strong Guy, Wind Dancer, and Shark Girl.
