The following contains major spoilers for Conquest 2099 #1, on sale now from Marvel Comics.
Two of the most iconic heroes are going to war, and it could change the face of Marvel’s not-so-far-off future.
Conquest 2099 #1 drops readers into an epic story that spans the stars. After making the journey to the vampire homeworld of Domus Draconum that his daughter had built in his name, Dracula discovers the entire planet ravaged by an invading Araneon army led by the merciless Spidercide. When Nova, formerly known as Logan, gets wind of what happened, he immediately makes the trip to Earth in search of the Araneon Sivern Dru, aka Spider-Woman, in the hopes that she will be able to tell him how to stop the war-torn alien society she left behind. Unfortunately, Spider-Woman has no intentions of helping further the violence in either direction and when Nova doesn’t accept her hesitance, Spider-Man has no problem stepping in on her behalf.
How Stan Lee Rewrote Spider-Man’s Most Hated Storyline of All Time
One Spider-Man storyline redefined the entire Marvel Universe for more than a decade, and Stan Lee saved it from ever happening in one key title.

The rise of the vampire homeworld of Domus Draconum in the timeline of Earth-2099 was first laid out in the pages of Miguel O’Hara: Spider-Man 2099 #2 by Steve Orlando and Michael Dowling. After being trapped in his coffin recovering from a devastating attack that Dracula himself nearly gave his life to stave off, the Lord of the Vampires awoke with only vengeance on his mind. Upon being greeted by Spider-Man, however, Dracula learned exactly what had become of his people in his absence and the lengths they had gone to in order to build a peaceful home for themselves out among the stars.
Sivern Dru, the Spider-Woman of Earth-2099, made her comic book debut in the pages of 2022’s Spider-Man 2099: Exodus #3 by Steve Orlando and José Carlos Silva. Like so many other Araneons, Sivern was oppressed on her home planet, which was ravaged by the constant wars waged in its name. In the hopes of leaving behind an entirely different kind of legacy, Sivern made the journey to Earth and took up the mantle of Spider-Woman, ultimately becoming just the kind of unlikely hero the world needs.
Marvel’s Future Venom is Teaming Up with the Deadliest Demon of All Time
The deadliest Elder God in the entire Marvel Universe might be the last shot a time-displaced Dylan Brock has of saving it.
Steve Orlando and Ibraim Roberson’s story “The Last Nova,” from the pages of Annihilation 2099 #1, introduced the current Nova of Earth-2099, who just so happens to be a fan-favorite X-Veteran. Formerly Wolverine, Logan survived on into the future and eventually came face-to-face with the latest in a long line of Annihilation events. With time running out and the entire universe at stake, Logan agreed to be imbued with more power than any Nova Corps member before him, only to end up with even more power than originally intended, all while the rest of the Nova Corps were wiped out before his very eyes.
