Michal Walsh’s Frankenstein story is the third Universal Monsters comic series to launch from Skybound. In 2023, James Tynion IV and Martin Simmonds teamed up for a Dracula comic book series that delivered fresh twists and featured popular characters from the original Universal film, including R.M. Renfield, Mina Seward, Van Helsing and more.

Earlier this year, Ram V, Dan Watters and Matthew Roberts released The Creature From the Black Lagoon Lives!, a series set years after the events of the original film. The limited series tells the story of journalist Kate Marsden as she hunts for a notorious serial killer in the Amazon but encounters an unexpected threat in the Creature from the Black Lagoon. Skybound has already teased that Frankenstein will be followed by more limited series that pairs some of “the biggest names in comics with pop culture’s most iconic monsters”.
