Skybound has revealed a special series of connecting cover art for their new G.I. Joe series by David Nakayama showing the women of G.I. Joe and Cobra engaged in battle. The first of the four covers will go on sale this November.

The new G.I. Joe series is led by the creative team of writer Joshua Williamson (Duke, Cobra Commander) and artist Tom Reilly (Duke), with Skybound teasing that the new series will be “history-making”. The new series tells the story of Conrad Hauser, Codename Duke, as he assembles a special force known as G.I. Joe to battle the mysterious Cobra in the aftermath of the Transformers’ Autobots and Decepticons arriving on Earth in the new Energon Universe timeline. Skybound has also teased the first appearance of an all-new character coming with the new series. G.I. Joe #1 goes on sale Nov. 13.

The all-new G.I. Joe series is shaping up to be another pillar of Skybound and Hasbro’s Energon Universe, which also includes Transformers and Robert Kirkman’s Void Rivals. Joe-themed miniseries throughout the year, including Duke, Cobra Commander, Scarlett and Destro. Skybound has teased that the new G.I. Joe series will continue to have “can’t-miss moments” in every issue, unveiling new secrets and answering the “big” questions along the way.
