The villainous Aunt May who stepped into the role of the Sinister Squadron’s Madame Web first appeared in the pages of Spider-Society #2. While the eponymous team of heroes were already well aware of the threat posed by the Sinister Squadron, whose members hail from all corners of the Multiverse, that which the villainous Madame Web posed was only recently discovered. Thanks to her precognitive abilities, this evil Aunt May stands as one of if not the most key part of the Sinister Squadron’s plans.
The Web of Life and Destiny was originally introduced in 2010’s hit video game, Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, before making the move to the world of Marvel Comics. As a literal road map to the Multiverse, the Web of Life and Destiny contains threads charting the lives of every sentient being in existence. This is most prominently seen in the strands that stand as the lives of the various Spider Totems who have made the Spider-Verse famous, such as Peter Parker and Cindy Moon.
Marvel Reveals the Shocking Connection Between Miles Morales and a Future Black Cat
The Miles Morales of the darkest future Marvel fans have ever seen just learned his connection to an unexpected hero, and it is heartbreaking.
The Web of Life and Destiny was most recently the subject of a large-scale attack by the ancient villain known as Shathra. After unleashing her insectile swarm across the Multiverse, Shathra transformed various heroes into monstrous versions of themselves to serve in her thrall. Though Shathra was able to take hold over the Web of Life and Destiny, her defeat paved the way for it to be repaired, bringing back those whose strands had been cut short all while introducing entirely new characters such as Bailey Briggs, aka Spider-Boy.

Spider-Man
Since his first appearance in 1962, Spider-Man has almost always been Marvel Comics’ most popular character. Known for his sense of humor and bad luck as well as his selflessness and super-strength, Spider-Man has helmed countless titles over the years, Spider-Man’s most prominent comics include The Amazing Spider-Man, Web of Spider-Man, and Peter Parker, The Spectacular Spider-Man.
Peter Parker was the original Spider-Man but the Spider-Verse has become an important part of the character’s lore in recent years. Multiversal and future Spider-Men include Miles Morales, Spider-Gwen, Miguel O’Hara and Peter Porker, the Spectacular Spider-Ham. This provided the premise for the popular Spider-Verse film trilogy, which makes Miles its primary hero.
Spider-Man is also the basis of several live-action film franchises and numerous animated television series. He is one of the most recognizable characters in the world. While he’s changed a lot over the decades, Steve Ditko and Stan Lee gave the world an unforgettable hero when they created Spider-Man.
