The following contains major spoilers for Green Arrow #14, on sale now from DC Comics.
The Green Arrow family is hunting down the one person who can stop Amanda Waller’s Amazo army, and he’s just as much of a problem as she is.
After regrouping following the revelation that Oliver Queen has sided with Amanda Waller in her ongoing war against the world’s superheroes, the rest of the Green Arrow family are left to take charge of the situation however they can. As seen in the pages of Green Arrow #14, that means going after the one person who might know how to stop the Amazos in their tracks — Professor Ivo. Unfortunately, Ivo has no intention of helping the likes of Connor Hawke, especially not when he has other creations like the Tomorrow Woman to fight his battles for him.

The villainous Professor Ivo is one of the most storied characters in the wider DC Comics mythos, with his first appearance taking place back in 1960’s The Brave and the Bold #30 by Gardner Fox and Mike Sekowsky. In his debut, Professor Ivo unleashed his Amazo android for the first time. Soon enough, Amazo had copied the powers of every hero who stood in its way, nearly defeating the Justice League once and for all in the name of its malevolent master.
Professor Ivo’s Amazo androids have played key roles in numerous storylines over the years, but none so much as the ongoing events of Absolute Power. So far, Absolute Power has seen Amanda Waller join forces with Failsafe, the former Amazo who was rebuilt in Batman’s image, as well as the dreaded Brainiac Queen. With their powers and her own seemingly endless resources, Waller has cultivated an army of Amazo androids in the form of Task Force VII, all while disseminating violent propaganda that paints the true heroes of the DC Universe as murderous monsters unto themselves.
Batman: DC’s Strangest Imp Becomes an Official Member of the Bat-Family
One of the DC Universe’s smallest heroes saves the day and earns himself a place in the Bat-Family.
Since then, Waller has stripped many of the greatest heroes of all time of their powers, possibly permanently. This has forced everyone from Superman to Mister Terrific into hiding, while others such as Hal Jordan have been captured and imprisoned for their purported crimes. Fortunately, there are multiple teams of heroes still working from the shadows to defeat Waller by any means necessary, including Lois Lane, courtesy of one of Lex Luthor’s old power suits.
