Spider-Man’s next big mission involves another trip through the Spider-Verse – And it’s all to save the kid sidekick he was never supposed to have in the first place.
Spider-Boy #9 finds Spider-Man standing over a tombstone in the middle of an empty cemetery on a rainy night. Soon enough, his mourning is interrupted by the sudden arrival of none other than Julia Carpenter, better known as Madame Web, who offers Spider-Man a chance to get his kid sidekick back. Unfortunately, it will cost each of them something they hold dear, although whatever that price may be, Peter Parker is more than willing to pay it.

When Bailey Briggs, better known as Spider-Boy, first appeared in the pages of 2023’s Spider-Man #7 by Dan Slott and Mark Bagley, he was quite literally born out of nothingness. Bailey’s life began when the Web of Life and Destiny, which had come under attack from the forces of the ancient, insectile villain Shathra, was repaired. Somehow, Bailey ended up with a place in the primary Marvel Universe, all while the rest of the world couldn’t even remember him ever existing.
Since then, Bailey has struggled to find a place for himself in the world. Though he did eventually convince Peter Parker to take him in as the kid sidekick Bailey remembered being for the past three years, that relationship was under constant strain. Before long, Bailey was embarking on his own adventures, only to be caught in the clutches of the malevolent Madame Monstrosity, his ultimate creator and the villain who was behind numerous attacks on Spider-Boy’s friends and loved ones.
X-Men: Apocalypse Goes to War with His Deadliest Creation – Again
The search for Apocalypse’s rightful heir drops the classic supervillain into a fight with one of the deadliest X-Men of all time.
Most recently, Bailey was rescued from Madame Monstrosity’s machinations by a ragtag team of heroes consisting of Spider-Man, Captain America, Squirrel Girl, the Mighty Thor, and Marvel’s very own miniature Super-Adaptoid, the Toy Soldier. Although the team were successful in their mission to save Bailey from his villainous creator, their efforts haven’t made any headway when it comes to uncovering the true secrets of Bailey’s origin, nor in helping the family he loved remember him in the slightest.

Spider-Man
Since his first appearance in 1962, Spider-Man has almost always been Marvel Comics’ most popular character. Known for his sense of humor and bad luck as well as his selflessness and super-strength, Spider-Man has helmed countless titles over the years, Spider-Man’s most prominent comics include The Amazing Spider-Man, Web of Spider-Man, and Peter Parker, The Spectacular Spider-Man.
Peter Parker was the original Spider-Man but the Spider-Verse has become an important part of the character’s lore in recent years. Multiversal and future Spider-Men include Miles Morales, Spider-Gwen, Miguel O’Hara and Peter Porker, the Spectacular Spider-Ham. This provided the premise for the popular Spider-Verse film trilogy, which makes Miles its primary hero.
Spider-Man is also the basis of several live-action film franchises and numerous animated television series. He is one of the most recognizable characters in the world. While he’s changed a lot over the decades, Steve Ditko and Stan Lee gave the world an unforgettable hero when they created Spider-Man.
