New Scarlet Witch Series Gives Fans New Look at MCU Icon

Marvel’s upcoming issue of Scarlet Witch will have a special variant cover featuring concept artwork from Agatha All Along. On the cover is Aubrey Plaza’s Rio character from the hit television series.

Marvel unveiled the new cover art for Scarlet Witch #7 following the finale of Agatha All Along, which is now streaming on Disney+. The previous issue of Scarlet Witch featured a Marvel Studios Variant Cover featuring Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness, and now Aubrey Plaza’s Rio takes center stage for December’s issue. The character of Rio Vidal was introduced as a new member of Agatha’s coven in the streaming series, but the true identity of her comics’ counterpart was later revealed as the show progressed. The concept art is drawn by Imogene Chayes and the special variant cover will be available in comic book shops on Dec. 11.

Orlando’s Scarlet Witch solo series debuted earlier this year, with the powerful Marvel sorceress serving as a hero to the helpless. Magic always has consequences, and the new series finds Wanda defending herself from mystical threats new and old throughout the Marvel Universe in each issue.

Agatha All Along Makes Way for New Vision Quest Series

Agatha All Along is Marvel’s latest MCU television series, spinning off from 2021’s successful WandaVision series. The show sees Kathryn Hahn reprising her role as Agatha Harkness from WandaVision, with Joe Locke, Aubrey Plaza, Ali Ahn, Patti LuPone and Debra Jo Rupp also starring. The series is set three years after the events of WandaVision, with Agatha Harkness escaping the magical spell that trapped the town of Westview.

Vision Quest is set to be part of the MCU’s Phase Six, with Paul Bettany expected to reprise his role for the series. Filming is planned to begin in early 2025.

Scarlet Witch #7 goes on sale Dec. 11, and Agatha All Along is now streaming on Disney+.
