Marvel’s Rocket Raccoon Gets Brand-New Funko Pop Figure

Rocket Raccoon’s comic book adventures will be honored in a special new Funko Pop! figure. The figure is part of the Marvel Studios Selects line and will be available for purchase at Target.
Collider revealed an exclusive look at the new collectible, which features the Guardian of the Galaxy in his comic attire — with much more armor than seen in the films. The Funko also includes cover art of Brian Michael Bendis‘ Guardians of the Galaxy #3 which features Rocket Racoon on the cover. The 3.5-inch tall figure comes in a 7 x 10.75 x 3.25-inch case and will retail for $29.99. Packaging images of the figure indicate that it will also come with a digital version of the Guardians of the Galaxy #3 comic. The exact release date for the Funko Pop has yet to be announced.

Bendis’ run on Guardians of the Galaxy began in 2013 and aimed to relaunch the comic franchise ahead of the first film’s release in 2014. The comic story saw Star Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket Raccoon and Groot joined by Iron Man discovering new secrets of the Marvel Universe. The series spawned 27 issues and ran until 2015 and included tie-ins with multiple Marvel comic events at the time, including The Trial of Jean Grey with the X-Men and Original Sin featuring Thanos and Nova.
In 2022, Funko announced the Marvel Studios Selects line of collectibles in collaboration with Marvel and Target. As a part of the line, new Funko Pops will be released on the last Monday of each month featuring characters from Marvel Studios films and Disney+ series.

A wide array of Marvel characters have received figures in the Selects line, and characters like Doctor Strange, Shuri, Ms. Marvel and She-Hulk all received collectibles that included their matching comic book counterparts, similar to Rocket Raccoon. The line also introduced a Black Light collection that included characters from the Infinity Saga in Pop form as well as pins, drinking glasses, t-shirts and more.
