With new pet friends, Dogpool continues to steal the spotlight from its more illustrious variant, Deadpool. Marvel is celebrating the Merc With a Mouth this week with the Marvel Unlimited arrival of Infinity Comics, starring Dogpool, Catpool, and Mousepool.

The publisher announced Dogpool’s July 26 launch during the Marvel Comics: Next Big Thing panel at San Diego Comic-Con. Per Marvel, fans can now follow the adventures of his other Petpool friends, beginning with a Catpool Infinity Comic one-shot, which arrives today. The Catpool one-shot debuts before the release of a Mousepool Infinity Comic one-shot tomorrow and a Dogpool Team-Up Infinity Comic one-shot two days after. Dogpool #2 hits Marvel Unlimited on August 2. MacKenzie Cadenhead wrote all the comics with art by Enid Balám.

Line it is Drawn: Deadpool and Wolverine Take Over Classic Movie Posters

In the latest Line it is Drawn, our artists drew your suggestions for Deadpool and Wolverine taking over classic movie posters

Catpool #1’s description reads, “Nothing can stand between Catpool and a tuna fish sandwich, except maybe Mousepool… and Black Bolt with a cold.” For Mousepool #1, “a fun day at the carnival turns sinister when Catpool tries to burst Mousepool’s balloon, and the Balloon Master is not amused. He is not amused at all.” Dogpool Team-Up #1’s animal team of Deadpool variants “will teach Marvel Editorial what it means when they say, “f**k around and find out.” The Marvel Unlimited-exclusive Dogpool launched last week as the publisher’s newest Friday Funnies series, and issues of the Infinity Comic series will continue to arrive each week throughout August.

Marvel editor Mark Paniccia is excited about the arrival of the new Petpools. “Catpool and Mousepool are instant classics! They’re truly twisted creations,” he said. “It’s like MacKenzie and Enid went into Deadpool’s head and came back channeling Wade Wilson’s deranged humor. These characters will have you grinning from cheek to cheek,” Paniccia added.

SDCC: New Wolverine Series Announced by Marvel

The hero once known as X-23 is getting a new book that showcases the daughter of the original Wolverine tackling mutantkind’s darkest threats.

Dogpool was a big part of the film Deadpool & Wolverine, the box-office behemoth, seen by many as a return to form for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Britain’s Ugliest Dog award-winner, Peggy, played the lovable pooch that served as the focal point for comedic interactions between Deadpool and his variant Nicepool.

Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds recently discussed why Peggy got the Deadpool & Wolverine Dogpool role. “The reason why I was a huge proponent for her was becauseshe feels like the animal manifestation of Wade Wilson,” he said. “It was, just like many things during the writing process, a tiny little afterthought, and it grew. It was one of those things where you keep listening to the movie, and Dogpool became a staple,” Reynolds added.

The Infinity Comic Catpool #1 is available today on Marvel Unlimited.
