[[{“value”:”
Moon Knight’s patron god is about to be released from his Asgardian prison, and it will either save or destroy the entire world.
Vengeance of the Moon Knight #7 finds two of the Midnight Mission’s greatest heroes, Tigra and Hunter’s Moon, deep within the hallowed halls of Asgard with Max Coleridge, better known as the Shroud, in tow. As they creep through corridors, the heroes worry about what might happen if they are found out, not to mention what will become of the world if their mission fails. As it turns out, the three have come not to seek Asgardian assistance, but to free Khonshu from his well-deserved imprisonment.

Although Khonshu is responsible for imbuing Marc Spector with his powers as Moon Knight, the ancient God of the Moon hasn’t always gotten along with his champion. Things came to a head between the two most recently during the events of 2020’s “Age of Khonshu” storyline. In a bid to stave off the threat of Mephisto, Khonshu convinced Moon Knight to help him steal away the powers of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. Unfortunately, this resulted in Khonshu eventually attempting to take control of the Earth for himself, forcing Moon Knight to defeat his own patron god and imprison him in Asgard where his divine powers could be properly sealed away.
As a result of Khonshu’s imprisonment, Marc Spector lost the effective immortality that he had relied upon for so many years in the course of his duties as a Fist of Khonshu. This led to Marc Spector’s ultimate demise in the pages of 2023’s Moon Knight #30 by Jed MacKay and Alessandro Cappuccio, in which the titular hero sacrificed himself to save New York City from what would have otherwise been a devastating attack. Since then, Moon Knight’s allies have done everything they can to keep watch over the Midnight Mission that Marc founded and to keep his legacy alive.
The Spider-Men’s Battle is Interrupted by a Classic Marvel Villain
The battle between Peter Parker and Miles Morales is about to be shaken up with the addition of one of Marvel’s most underrated villains.
These efforts were upset by the sudden appearance of a new Moon Knight, who was soon revealed to be none other than Coleridge himself. Due to Coleridge’s Darkforce abilities, he became one of the targets of Blade’s vampire army, who used unwitting Darkforce wielders to cast a shroud of endless night over the entire planet before launching their all-out assault on humanity. In the months following the beginning of Marvel’s Blood Hunt, nearly every hero and villain the world has to offer has joined in the fight, assuming they haven’t succumbed to the vampiric infection sweeping the globe.
