Marvel’s Iconic Corner Box Covers Return From Artist Mark Brooks
Marvel’s iconic corner boxes return in variant covers starring Iron Man, Captain America, Professor Xavier and more created by artist Mark Brooks.
“Almost a year ago, I started drawing these animated Marvel characters just for fun,” Brooks explained in a press release. “It became a way for me to loosen up and draw something different from my normal style. I never dreamed that over 200 characters later [they’d] see the light of day as official Marvel artwork. I have so many more to show and even more that I want to draw. I couldn’t be more thrilled to see them grace the covers of some of my favorite books and hope the audience enjoys collecting them as much as I did creating them!”
The animated-style covers will arrive on Feb. 5, 2025, with Avengers #23, Phoenix #8, Scarlet Witch #9, Uncanny X-Men #10, and Wolverine #6 kicking off the limited releases. Other iconic characters like Deadpool, Thor, and Storm will get variants shortly thereafter, with Brooks providing covers for each self-titled series.
