Kitty Pryde and Emma Frost’s Exceptional X-Men Team Revealed

Marvel Comics has given fans a first look at the all-new characters which will make their debut later this year in Exceptional X-Men. The teasers show three members of Kitty Pryde’s new team, revealing their names and some of their powers.
Exceptional X-Men is one of Marvel’s new X-Men related series kicking off the new ‘From the Ashes’ era that picks up after the fall of Krakoa left the world of mutants reeling. Exceptional X-Men‘s story stars Kitty Pryde as she assembles an all-new team of wayward young mutants, with Emma Frost also in a leading role. Kitty’s new team includes the mutants Axo, Bronze and Melee, and Marvel’s new character profiles show the new powers they’ll bring to the story. The three new mutants will work together as a team to hone their exceptional talents, with Kitty teaching them to embrace their mutant pride. Exceptional X-Men #1 goes on sale Sept. 4.
Marvel Announces New San Diego Comic-Con Panels, Booth and More
Marvel officially unveils their lineup of panels and events for this year’s upcoming San Diego Comic-Con, along with new experiences and merchandise.
One of the first mutants readers will meet is Bronze in Exceptional X-Men #1. Real name Trista Marshall, Bronze’s mutant power is metallic skin that is nearly as strong as adamantium. She is also able to extend retractable whip-thin cables from her body. In the second issue, Axo and Melee make their debut. Axo (Alex Luna) has emotion detection and manipulation powers, with his skin changing color to reflect the mood of those around him. Melee (Thao Tran) has invisibility and intangibility stealth powers, making her virtually untouchable.
In addition to Kate Pryde’s new Exceptional X-Men team, Marvel is also re-launching the X-Men and X-Factor teams with the start of the ‘From the Ashes’ era. The new X-Men team is led by Cyclops and features fan-favorite mutants, including Beast, Magneto, Psylocke, Magik and many others.

A new X-Factor series will debut in August with Havok and Angel leading America’s government-sponsored team of mutants, with team members including Pyro, Frenzy, Feral and more. One of the team’s first missions will see Polaris leading a new mutant rebellion, while another issue will send the X-Factor team all the way to the moon. Other ‘From the Ashes’ titles will spotlight some of Marvel’s most iconic mutants, including titles for Uncanny X-Men, Phoenix, Wolverine, Dazzler, Storm and Mystique.
