The Folio Society will pay tribute to Marvel’s epic storytelling with the arrival of the Marvel Unforgettable Stories hardcover that collects ten seminal Marvel stories selected by Patton Oswalt and Jordan Blum. CBR can now share an exclusive preview of Fantastic Four #587 from the hardcover collection.
Written by Jonathan Hickman, with art by Steve Epting, Fantastic Four #587 “Three, Part 5: The Last Stand” debuted in January 2011. In the book, the titular team faces crises on three fronts: The Invisible Woman tries to broker peace between New and Old Atlantis; Mr Fantastic helps evacuate the planet before Galactus consumes it; while the Human Torch, Ben Grimm, and the children of the Future Foundation try to prevent an Annihilation Wave from the Negative zone crossing over to Earth. Alan Davis, Mark Farmer, and Javier Rodriguez provided the cover art for Fantastic Four #587, lettered by Rus Wooton and colored by Paul Mounts.

Marvel Unveils Future of Ultimate Universe
Marvel Comics’ Ultimate Universe tale will continue across several titles, including Ultimates #9 and Ultimate Spider-Man #14, throughout February.
The acclaimed actor and writer Oswalt discussed choosing stories for the collection in Marvel Unforgettable Stories‘ introduction. “Jordan Blum and I—both lifelong comics readers and ‘make mine Marvel’ fanatics—had a hard time picking only ten stories for this collection,” he wrote. “I can hear the bleats and rumblings of, ‘But you didn’t include . . .’ and ‘How could you forget . . .’ Lemme save your vocal cords the stress—you’re right. Any objections you have to any stories being passed over? You’re right. There are simply too many to print under one cover. Hey, maybe buy this edition, and get all your friends to buy one, and they’ll let us pick ten more! Capitalism!”
Marvel and the Folio Society’s Marvel Unforgettable Stories will arrive in comic book shops on November 27.
