First seen in Stan Lee’s story “Her Perilous Quest!” from the pages of 1949’s Venus #5, Zeus Panhellenios is the unquestioned ruler of the Olympian pantheon. Born to the Titans Rhea and Cronus, the latter of whom imprisoned his own children in the hopes of staving off his own demise, Zeus was the only one of Cronus’ descendants to escape his father’s imprisonment. Eventually, Zeus led the charge against the Titans, ultimately becoming the supreme ruler of all Olympians.

The Zeus of the Marvel Cinematic Universe debuted in 2022’s Thor: Love and Thunder as portrayed by Hollywood icon Russell Crowe. The film saw Zeus standing as the leader of not just the Olympians, but of the gathered gods of Omnipotence City, which comprised numerous pantheons. When Thor came to warn the other gods of the threat of Gorr the God Butcher, Zeus eschewed the God of Thunder’s concerns, leading the Olympian to be struck by one of his own lightning bolts.
