Image Comics will rush two sold-out issues of Geoff Johns’ Rook: Exodus series back to print this August. The second printing for the issues comes along with many other announcements at San Diego Comic-Con from Image’s imprint Ghost Machine, which publishes the sold-out titles.
Johns is joined by artist Jason Fabok (Batman: Three Jokers) for the series, which is set hundreds of years in the future on a new planet called Exodus. The series stars a simple farmer named Rock who fled the crumbling Earth for a new life on the terraformed Exodus. But when the new planet’s power falls into the wrong hands, chaos and mass evacuations soon follow. Now, Rook, and others like him on Exodus, must scavenge the planet looking for an escape as a war for control of the planet begins. The second printings of Rook: Exodus #2 and #3 will be available at comic stores on Aug. 21.

The Rook: Exodus series began publication via Image’s Ghost Machine imprint earlier this year, and its fourth issue just went on sale July 24. In Rook: Exodus #4, an all-out war on Exodus has broken out, and Rook joins forces with Dire Wolf and other new allies to try and stop the bear warden named Ursaw who seeks control over the world. The new issue poses an important question — what could Ursaw want with the dying planet when everyone else on it is desperate to escape?
