CBR has an exclusive first look at Marvel’s upcoming Wolverine #2. The issue is part of the X-Men’s From the Ashes era, and its story shows the iconic mutant being stalked by a mysterious creature of legend.
The debut issue of the new series, which went on sale this week, brought back an old enemy into Logan’s life, included a key first appearance in Wolverine’s new story and added a major addition to the character’s lore. Next month, in Wolverine #2, Logan will find himself stalked in the Canadian North by the Wendigo — a mythological creature originating from Algonquian folklore. Marvel teases that the secrets the Wendigo hides will shape Wolverine’s new mission. Wolverine #2 goes on sale Oct. 16.

CBR’s exclusive first look at Wolverine #2 shows Logan hiding out quietly in the snowy Canadian forest before the Wendigo arrives and things quickly turn bloody. The issue marks the debut of the all-new Wendigo, with the character having appeared in past Marvel comics, beginning with The Incredible Hulk #162 in April 1973. Based on the creature of folklore, Marvel’s Wendigo manifests as a curse afflicting cannibals in the Canadian North Woods. As a result of the curse’s transformation, the Wendigo is often shown to possess a variety of superhuman powers and physical abilities.
Wolverine’s All-New Villain to Be Revealed in New Issues
The overarching story of Marvel’s latest Wolverine comics has been teasing an “all-new” villain for the mutant of legend. After Wolverine’s battle with the Wendigo, he’ll face off against Canada’s Department H in Wolverine #3. As more of Logan’s old enemies gather, the issue teases that the all-new villain moving against Wolverine will be made clearer as the story unfolds.
Disney’s Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Gets New Prequel Series
Marvel Comics unveils a prequel comic book series for the eagerly anticipated Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Disney+ show.
The new Wolverine solo series is part of the 2024 relaunch of the X-Men line of comic books titled From the Ashes. The stories follow the end of the Krakoan Age of X-Men comics, which included the Fall of X. The new main X-Men title features a team of Beast, Cyclops, Juggernaut, Kid Omega, Magik, Magneto, Psylocke and Temper. Other ongoing series include Phoenix, X-Force, Exceptional X-Men, and the newly announced Magik.
