EXCLUSIVE: Werewolf By Night Destabilizes the Savage Land’s Ecosystem
[[{“value”:”
Marvel’s expansion of its R-rated “Red Band” editions of its comic books (comic books containing extra gore, originally offered as alternatives of “regular” editions of the same comic, like with Blood Hunt and Wolverine: Revenge, but now with a series of horror-themed series, comics offered ONLY in the “Red Band” version) continues with this Werewolf by Night series, which pits Jack Russell (the titular Werewolf by Night) against a group of Darkholders (led by the Hood and the old Ghost Rider rogue, Deathwatch). After a battle where Jack suffered a major injury, he and his friend (and maybe MORE than “just” a friend), Elsa Bloodstone, escape, and we see in this CBR exclusive preview of next week’s Werewolf by Night #3 that their journey takes them to the Savage Land.
Werewolf by Night #3 is from writer Jason Loo, penciler Sergio Dávila, inker Aure Jimenez, colorist Andy Sinclair, and letterer Joe Sabino, and shows the effect of freeing an out of control beast like Jack Russell right now (even a severely injured Jack Russell) into a place like the Savage Land (it is not pretty. Again, remember, this is a comic book that is specifically polybagged because of the gore, so you can imagine how things are going to go).

Moon Knight and Werewolf by Night Would Be a Great Unexpected MCU Team Up
Moon Knight and Werewolf by Night have not interacted yet in the MCU, but they could be an iconic team up in the future.
The preview pages show Jack and Elsa reflect a bit on their current relationship, as Jack notes that he is very worried about how his out-of-control transformations are putting his “loved ones” at risk, and Elsa has to wonder whether that includes her (and Jack, of course, tries to dodge what his definition of a “loved one” is).
We see the two making the most of their trip to the Savage Land, Marvel’s secret world of dinosaurs in the middle of the Antarctic, but then things take a turn when Jack transforms again, and KILLS A T-REX! Elsa worries about what Jack is doing to the ecosystem, but the fact that he can so casually slaughter a T-Rex is probably a greater cause for concern.
The preview ends with Jack being attacked by a hero. The cover of the issue suggests that it is Moon Knight, but Ka-Zar is probably not thrilled about their presence there, either, so you’ll have to pick up the issue next week to find out who is attacking Jack!
