Eddie Brock to Become Carnage’s New Host
[[{“value”:”
At New York Comic Con, Marvel made a major announcement that will change the course of Eddie Brock’s path in the Marvel Universe forever, as the former host of the Venom symbiote will now become the new host of the Carnage symbiote, which had previously been bonded with the psychotic serial killer, Cletus Kasady.
The new Eddie Brock status quo will spin out of the events of the Venom War, where Eddie and his son, Dylan, have been battling for control of the Venom symbiote. A yet to be revealed person will be the host of the Venom symbiote in All-New Venom, which will serve as a sister book to Eddie Brock: Carnage, which will be written by Charles Soule and drawn by Jesus Saiz.
Marvel’s Venom War Gives Deadpool a Painful Reminder
Marvel’s Venom War has reached the Monster Metropolis — and Man-Thing uses it as an opportunity to show off his true power.
What is the problem with being the host to Carnage?
Each of the major symbiotes have their own distinctive effects on their hosts, and in the case of Carnage, the hosts of the symbiote are driven to violence and madness. Spider-Man briefly bonded with the Carnage symbiote back in the 1990s, and he almost went on a murder rampage at the time, and that’s SPIDER-Man, the guy whose whole DEAL is being responsible with great power.
Norman Osborn once bonded with the Carnage symbiote, and things went VERY poorly for the world. The Carnage symbiote is extremely difficult to control, and here, Eddie Brock will have to fight to keep Carnage from taking control of HIM (instead of the other way around), and doing so will take Eddie and his new symbiote to, as Marvel noted in a press release, “a journey into the darkest parts of the Marvel Universe with bloody death as their only guide!”
Venom War’s New Hybrid Symbiote, Explained
Marvel Comics’ Venom War has just unleashed a whole new take on the Hybrid symbiote, and he is stronger than any version that fans have seen before.
Soule was quoted by Marvel in its press release about the series, “Carnage is someone that has to kill, so Eddie has to feed him deaths. In order for Eddie to be okay with that, the people he feeds Carnage are serial killers. But Carnage is also an addict, and addicts need bigger and bigger highs…”
Soule continued, “I’m having a blast with this. Jesus Saiz wanted to do a horror book. This is his wheelhouse. He loves creepy organic things to draw, and I’m giving him everything he can handle.”
