The following contains major spoilers for Deadpool #8, on sale now from Marvel Comics.

The heir to Deadpool’s legacy has just uncovered the truth behind why his other family never worked out.

After a run-in with the exceptionally lethal Valentine Vuong, Ellie Camacho is quick to take the offensive. As seen in Deadpool #8, however, this is a classic case of a superhero misunderstanding, which the oversized symbiote pup Princess is more than happy to get in the middle of. Though Ellie didn’t know about her father’s relationship with Valentine previously, his old romantic partner fills in the gaps for both her and readers who had no idea how simply Wade Wilson’s last great romance faded from view.

Introduced in the pages of 2022’s Deadpool #1, Valentine Vuong is a powerful mutant capable of creating any chemical substance imaginable within their own body before unleashing them through the syringe tips at the ends of their glass prosthetic arms. When Valentine made their debut, they were one of the many assassins who made up the group known as the Atelier. Initially, Deadpool had hoped to join the Atelier alongside Lady Deathstrike, though the pair ultimately failed in their audition for the organization.

In the months that followed, Valentine became an ever more present fixture in Deadpool’s life, so much so that the two eventually embarked upon one of the most fiery romances in either of their lives. Between the presence of Valentine and the introduction of Princess, the symbiote canine born from a string of Carnage symbiote gestated within Deadpool, the Merc With a Mouth officially found a new family for himself after years of emotional turmoil. Sadly, Valentine would ultimately leave Wade, with readers previously believing that the breakup had taken place due to the latter’s inattentive nature.

An MCU Fan-Favorite Finally Explained the Truth Behind Her Powers – and It’s a Tragedy

One of the most explosive superheroes of the silver screen has finally explained exactly how her powers work in the pages of Marvel Comics.

The current Deadpool and daughter of Wade Wilson, Ellie Camacho, first appeared back in 2013’s Deadpool #19 by writers Gerry Duggan and Brian Posehn and artist Declan Shalvey. Born from a short-lived tryst, Deadpool wasn’t even aware of Ellie’s existence until her mother Carmelita came looking for child support. Over the years, Deadpool tried to connect with Ellie, though he always ended up pushing her away in an effort to protect him from his overtly violent lifestyle. While the two were separated for much of that time, they recently reconnected just before Wade’s apparent untimely demise, after which Ellie took up his mantle in the hopes of finding some way to bring her father back.
