Absolute Powers Biggest Threats are Already Beginning to Fall Apart

Amanda Waller’s ultimate weapons are beginning to show the cracks in their facade, and it may spell doom for her plans for Absolute Power.
Absolute Power: Task Force VII #1 brings readers into the heart of the Rock of Eternity, where Billy Batson and Mary Marvel have come in search of some means of fighting back against Amanda Waller’s Amazo army. Unfortunately for the young heroes, they cannot risk using their powers when any of the Amazos are around, and one has already found its way to them. Surprisingly, this Amazo isn’t quite as well put together as it would appear, and this particular antagonistic android likely isn’t the only one with errors somewhere deep in its code.

The latest addition to DC’s Emotional Electromagnetic Spectrum might be the worst of them all — and it is all Hal Jordan’s fault.

Absolute Power marks Amanda Waller’s all-out war against the superheroes of the DC Universe. Over the past year, Waller has amassed all manner of previously untold power, including artifacts such as the Helmet of Hate and Nightmare Stone, both of which she put to use injecting her own agent into the ranks of the Titans. Waller has also sunk her hooks into the likes of the Brainiac Queen, who is fueling her disinformation campaign that has painted the likes of the Justice League as abject villains unto themselves.
The crux of Waller’s plans lies with the former Amazo android, Failsafe. After being defeated by the Justice League, this Amazo was rebuilt and reprogrammed by Batman’s twisted alter ego, Zur En Arrh, who crafted it into a literal Failsafe to stand against the Dark Knight should he ever cross the line. When Failsafe was activated, it waged a war against the Batman Family before finding a place as Waller’s right hand.
Batman: DC Twists a Classic Story and Changes Robin’s Dark Fate
The story of what could have been for Jason Todd finally begins — and it reveals a horrifying side of Gotham City’s Dark Knight.
Failsafe has since helped Waller to craft an army of six other similarly fashioned Amazo androids, each of which has gone after a specific member of the currently disbanded Justice League. Whereas previous Amazo androids were only capable of replicating the powers of those in their vicinity, these Amazos are capable of stealing those powers for themselves entirely. Worse still, it has been noted that these Amazos are not capable of giving said powers back, potentially leaving the likes of Superman with no recourse when it comes to losing their superhuman abilities.
