Kahhori: Reshaper of Worlds #1 opens to the bright and brilliant sight of Sky World, a realm outside of space and time, where the power of the Space Stone flows free for any and all to imbibe. There, the legendary Kahhori keeps watch over the land while organizing stunning new developments. Unfortunately, it is also where the villainous Loki has come to seek the power of the Space Stone for himself, and when Kahhori stands in his way, the two end up battling each other not just across Sky World, but even across the primary Marvel Universe of Earth-616.

Kahhori was introduced during the second season of Marvel Studios’ What If…? in the episode “What If… Kahhori Reshaped the World?” The epsiode saw Asgard razed to the ground by Surtur during the events of Ragnarok, which led the Tesseract to somehow end up in pre-colonial America. There, the Tesseract crashed down into the depths of a lone lake, infusing its waters with the powers of the Space Stone. When the Mohawk woman Kahhori and her brother Wáhta were beset upon by Spanic Conquistadors, the latter lost his life, whereas the former was imbued with the powers of the Space Stone after falling into the lake in what would have otherwise been her dying moments.

Thanks to the powers granted to her by the Space Stone and the mystical waters it created, Kahhori is capable of all manner of superhuman feats. Apart from enhanced strength, stamina, and durability, Kahhori is able to created and wield powerful force-fields, energy waves, and portals. This isn’t to mention her telekinetic abilities, which give her an extra edge over the competition, while her mastery of the elements allows her the opportunity to call upon various natural forces to lend her a hand in any given fray.

One of Spider-Man’s most tragic villains is finally back among the living, and it’s all thanks to Marvel Comics’ Venom War.

While the episode in question marked the beginning of Kahhori’s incredible journey, it also marked the first appearance of Sky World, or Giizhigong, outside the pages of Marvel Comics. Previously, Sky World had been a key locale during the events of 1990’s Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme #25 by writer Fabian Nicieza and artist Ron Lim. Like its small screen counterpart, the Sky World of Marvel Comics exists as a pocket dimension that is adjacent to yet entirely removed from Earth. Doctor Strange made an unexpected visit to the plane at the behest of Black Crow, a Navajo warrior-mystic who was on the hunt to rescue his old ally and fellow hero William Talltrees, aka Red Wolf.
