Green Lantern’s Statue Goes to War!”: While combing his hair, Green Lantern finds a strange bit of metal in his hair, scanning it he finds that it’s like no metal on Earth. Green Lantern begins to muse over this mystery and his past incident in which his power ring ran out of power before it’s 24 hour period. Little does he know he had just been returned from yet another adventure as “Pol Manning” in the year 5700 AD.
Earlier, in the year 5700, Dasor and Iona have become aware of a new menace threatening the Solarites that would warrent pulling Green Lantern out of the past to help them. Bringing Hal into the future and implanting the “Pol Manning” memories, Dasor tells “Pol” about three general Bassett, Korming and Mi-Vard who are mobilizing armies against Star City if their ultimatums are not met.
Mobilizing his own army to mount a counter attack, Green Lantern is able to stop the three generals and smash their rebellion. Shortly after, Pol is visited by Fernac Aldebaran, a magician who wants to help with the war effort. “Pol” however turns him down and sends him away.
Probing one of the rogue general’s minds, Green Lantern learns that Aldebaran was behind the whole plot and goes after him. However Aldebaran, anticipating this has created a device to incapacitate Green Lantern, causing him to become paralized. Using his power ring, Green Lantern animate a statue errected in his honor, and sends it to capture Aldebaran and destroy his device. With Aldebaran in custody, he reveals he started the rebellion as revenge for being looked over for the position of Solar Director. Hal is then returned to his own time where we see him find the metal in his hair, which was a bit that was broken off from the statue of him in the future. Not knowing what the metal is, Hal puts it in his dresser for safe keeping.
