Marvel’s Strange Academy story will continue with a surprising new twist in 2025. Following the academy’s instrumental role in Doctor Doom’s rise to power, the students will return in a new story titled Doom Academy.
The new five-issue limited series is at the heart of Marvel’s new One World Under Doom initiative, which was announced earlier this week and will see Victor Von Doom rise to power and overtake the Marvel Universe like never before. Doom Academy is the first of many tie-in series that will accompany the event, as Doctor Strange’s school for young sorcerers is transformed by Doom’s rise to power. Doom Academy is written by Mackenzie Cadenhead (Marvel Mutts) with art by Pasqual Ferry (Doctor Strange). The miniseries was announced at the Women of Marvel Panel at New York Comic Con, where the main cover art and two variants were also unveiled. Doom Academy #1 goes on sale Feb. 19.

NO! It is now DOOM ACADEMY!” Marvel’s solicit for the series teased. “Relocated from New Orleans to Latveria, the best magic school in the world just got better (according to some). It’s the start of the second year for Strange Academy students, and you know that things will not go as planned!”

Doom Academy Creators Tease New Characters From Old Doom Stories
In Marvel’s press release announcing Doom Academy, writer Mackenzie Cadenhead shared that the new series will feature characters related to some of Doctor Doom‘s older comic book stories. “It was really fun to go through old Doom stories and pick out some random characters that exist in that world and find someone or someone’s kid who might be attending Doom Academy,” Cadenhead said. “And because the school doesn’t exist, we got to really play with stuff. Pasqual is having a great time coming up with beautiful locales.”

João Lemos’ research on Eastern European folklore and fairytales is astounding.”
