Gaming streamer Valkyrae and digital entertainment company GlobalComix have announced a brand-new action-fantasy manga series, APOLLYON. The upcoming release, Valkyrae’s first manga series, will arrive exclusively on the GlobalComix platform in early 2025.

Per Valkyrae, manga and Webtoon creator Brandon Chen co-wrote APOLLYON, which is set in a world where magic is both a blessing and a curse. The world is divided between the radiant city of Takamagahara, a utopia suspended in the clouds, and Chasm City, a grim underbelly encircling a vast abyss. The manga’s protagonist Neru, the son of Takamagahara’s most powerful wizard, struggles under the weight of his father’s legacy, unable to cast a single spell despite his immense magical potential.

Due to his magical impotence, Nehu is banished to Chasm City, the urban pit carved into the center of the world where the those without magic live amongst demons. He believes his life is doomed to mediocrity until he crosses paths with a magical entity, a fallen Angel believed to be extinct, that unlocks Neru’s ability to cast spells. Valkyrae‘s recently launched anime-inspired media company, Hihi Studios, announced a co-publishing deal with GlobalComix to fund, creatively develop, and distribute its IP physically and digitally. APOLLYON is the first project spawned by the new partnership, and Valkyrae is excited about the collaboration, stating, “I am thrilled to bring the world of APOLLYON to life under HiHi Studios along with the GlobalComix team. This is the first of many projects we plan to produce, and I can’t wait for fans to experience it all.”

GlobalComix also recently announced partnerships with other top comic publishers, including DC Comics, Vault Comics, and Dark Horse Comics. The platform currently offers a large selection and variety of comics, such as Stranger Things, Hellboy, The Witcher, Umbrella Academy, Invincible, and Transformers. Notably, some of DC’s biggest franchises, including Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Catwoman, The Flash, and Suicide Squad, will soon grace the GlobalComix platform.

Valkyrae and GlobalComix’s manga series, APOLLYON, will debut in early 2025.
