[[{“value”:”

The following contains major spoilers for Miles Morales: Spider-Man #25, on sale now from Marvel Comics.

One of the mightiest Avengers of all time is putting Miles Morales through the one test he might not have any hope of ever passing.

Miles Morales: Spider-Man #25 picks up right where the previous issue left off, with Miles, Tiana Toomes, and Misty Knight discussing the former’s newfound vampirism with one of the world’s greatest minds, Doctor Keisha Kwan. Of course, none of those present have any idea how to wrap their minds around the mystic aspect of Miles’ condition, which is exactly why they have called upon none other than the Black Panther himself. Unfortunately, the only thing T’Challa is worried about is Miles’ bloodlust and, more specifically, whether or not he can control it.

Miles Morales has a storied history with the vampires of the Marvel Universe outside his own recent transformation into a creature of the night. When the threat of the ancient vampire known as R’ym’r emerged, Miles fought alongside Marvel’s very own Daywalker – Blade. Miles also fought alongside Blade’s daughter, Brielle Brooks, aka Bloodline, who has come into her own as one of the world’s foremost monster hunters over the past few years.

In the events of Marvel’s recently concluded Blood Hunt event, the entire world was overrun by a vampire army led by Blade, who himself was possessed by Varnae, the first vampire. In the ensuing chaos, Miles was bitten by the possessed Daywalker, kicking off a monstrous transformation unlike any the young Spider-Man had experienced before. Since then, Miles has done everything he can to stave off his hunger while continuing his career as Spider-Man. Meanwhile, the rest of the world comes to terms with the idea that its vampires now walk among them in broad daylight without care.

Spider-Man

Since his first appearance in 1962, Spider-Man has almost always been Marvel Comics’ most popular character. Known for his sense of humor and bad luck as well as his selflessness and super-strength, Spider-Man has helmed countless titles over the years, Spider-Man’s most prominent comics include The Amazing Spider-Man, Web of Spider-Man, and Peter Parker, The Spectacular Spider-Man.

Peter Parker was the original Spider-Man but the Spider-Verse has become an important part of the character’s lore in recent years. Multiversal and future Spider-Men include Miles Morales, Spider-Gwen, Miguel O’Hara and Peter Porker, the Spectacular Spider-Ham. This provided the premise for the popular Spider-Verse film trilogy, which makes Miles its primary hero.

Spider-Man is also the basis of several live-action film franchises and numerous animated television series. He is one of the most recognizable characters in the world. While he’s changed a lot over the decades, Steve Ditko and Stan Lee gave the world an unforgettable hero when they created Spider-Man.
