The Peanuts comic strip was written and illustrated by Charles M. Schultz and ran from Oct. 2, 1950, until Feb. 13, 2000, when it continued with reruns. Over the course of its run, Peanuts published over 17,000 strips, making it one of the most popular and influential in the history of comics. Schultz drew the strip for almost fifty years without the help of assistants, even in the lettering and coloring process.
