CBR can exclusively reveal that superstar actor, comedian and writer Patton Oswalt will join Tim Seeley and Garth Graham for a brand new Money Shot series at Vault Comics. Oswalt and Seeley will co-write, with Graham providing illustrations for the new arc, titled Money Shot: Big Bang.
Vault Comics describes Money Shot as “a story about scientists having sex with aliens for the glory of mankind — and money.” Oswalt and Seeley’s new story arc will see the “XXX-plorers” return as a new ‘anti-sex death cult’ is on the rise. The new series will debut with a “can’t-miss zero issue” on Jan. 15 that will bring readers up to speed on everything that’s happened in the series so far. Money Shot: Big Bang #1 will follow on Feb. 12, kicking off a brand-new storyline just in time for Valentine’s Day.

In addition to cover art by Graham, CBR also has the solicit for the first issue from Vault Comics: “You ever see that second Ewoks movie? The one where they suddenly kill off all the characters from the first movie?! And you were like “Mommy! Whyyy oh god whyyy?” Well, this new Money Shot arc is like that with a lot less body hair, somewhat more sex, and the same amount of people yelling for mommy. The XXX-plorers return just in time to witness the rise of an anti-sex death cult! Now it’s a race against time and the relay team includes alien strippers! All new artist Garth Graham joins OG writer Tim Seeley, and actual real funny person, Patton Oswalt!”
In Vault’s announcement of the new series, Seeley and Oswalt discussed becoming writing partners and creating an over-the-top story. “Money Shot has always been about finding the right partners,” said Seeley. “Lots of partners. Friends. Strangers. Aliens with a dozen or so sex organs. And even beloved comedians and acclaimed webcomics artists! So, with BIG BANG, I’m positively throbbing to work with my friend and collaborator Patton Oswalt, and burning hot new (to print comics) talent, Garth Graham!”
Celebrate The Walking Dead’s 21st Birthday With Negan
Robert Kirkman’s The Walking Dead comics are turning 21 years old, and Skybound is celebrating with a new deluxe edition of the series’ 100th issue.
“By being insanely over-the-top and on the outer rim of offensiveness, Money Shot actually lands squarely in the center of our current, deviant reality,” Oswalt added. Graham also shared his thoughts on how Money Shot differs from his usual mainstream work in webcomics. “I came across Money Shot when Kurt Michael Russell was coloring the first couple of volumes, and I remember being both delighted and surprised that mainstream comics were getting so cheeky,” he said. “Everything from a publisher is mainstream when you’re in webcomics, you see. So when Vault reached out, saying that Tim Seeley named me when asked what artist he wanted to work with most, I knew that the only appropriate answer was ‘Oh god, yes!’ Money Shot is exactly the kind of funny, sexy comic that lives right in my wheelhouse. A perfect fit.”
Vault Comics’ Money Shot: Big Bang #0 goes on sale on Jan. 15, followed by the debut issue on Feb. 12.
