Marvel’s Storm #1 description reads, “As she cements her role as the world’s prime protector, Storm‘s actions and decisions will impact the greater Marvel Universe and draw the attention (and admiration) of omnipotent cosmic forces like Oblivion as well as supervillains that match her standing such as Doctor Doom!”

Before the new trailer’s arrival, Marvel previously revealed an extensive look at Storm’s new costume. Werneck’s art showed the X-Men character looking regal in the suit, primarily white with gold accents and a bold ‘S’-shaped lightning bolt on her chest, re-imagining her classic silver suit. The costume also features a beautifully ornate headpiece and gold lightning bolt earrings befitting Marvel’s most electrifying mutant. Marvel has teased that Storm will “debut a variety of bold looks” throughout the new story as it continues.

Marvel’s new Deadpool might be a nepo baby, but that doesn’t mean she isn’t just as capable as the original Merc With a Mouth.

Series writer Ayodele recently discussed Storm’s responsibilities in the new series. “Storm taking on the responsibility of being Earth’s protector is a natural progression, not only as a result of the Krakoan Era but as a result of her entire publication history,” he said. “And with the fall of Krakoa hitting the mutants so hard and putting her homeworld at great risk, Storm is determined to not let that happen again,’ Ayodele added.

Series artist Werneck also previously discussed the inspiration behind Ororo’s new costume. “Fashion is always one of the many tools that I reach for when looking for inspiration,” he said. “You can tell so much about a character through their clothes, and this kind of visual narrative is something that I love. Now you can imagine how excited I was when Marvel gave me the opportunity and space to work with the fashion of such an iconic character like Ororo.”

Storm #1 is now available digitally and in comic book shops.
