Dynamite proudly reveals its upcoming oversized Christmas special, The Powerpuff Girls: Winter Snowdown Showdown, arriving this December.
As reported by AIPT, the merry special will see the titular heroes — Blossom, Buttercup and Bubbles — saving the people of Townsville. The Powerpuff Girls: Winter Snowdown Showdown’s solicitation reads, “It’s the holiday season in the city of Townsville, which means lots of fun. Citizens are ice skating, baking cookies, and shopping for their loved ones. Which is exactly what Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup are up to, as the fan-favorite, pint-sized protectors are in search of the perfect present for Professor Utonium. But what does one get for the man who has (or can make) everything? On their quest to find out, the Girls will learn valuable lessons about playing fair, respecting boundaries, and considering others, all while of course dispensing some generous doses of holiday-flavored justice. It’s time to deck the halls — and the bad guys!”
Vintage Comic Adverts Found in Basement After Over Half a Century
Vintage television ads for classic British comics were found after over half a century in DC Thomson’s Dundee building basement.
The festive one-shot will be written by Daniel Kibblesmith, an Emmy nominee and self-proclaimed Powerpuff Girl expert. “The Powerpuff Girls isn’t just one of my favorite shows of all time, it’s one of the best ideas in the history of fiction,” he explained. Kibblesmith also expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming project, stating, “I also loudly love the holidays and joking about the holidays (people have noticed and give me holiday assignments) so any fans of classic Powerpuff Girls comedy and action, kids and their parents, and any sentimental animated Christmas special lovers need to check this out!”
The issue will feature art by Carlo Lauro, who is responsible for bringing the Darkwing Duck revival to life. Comic creators Cat Staggs (Death of Superman and Wonder Woman ’77) and Francesco Tomaselli (Batman / Superman: World’s Finest and Spawn) also join the festivities with breathtaking covers for the upcoming holiday special.
