Spider-Man: Marvel Squashes Peter Parker “Like a Bug” in New Preview

[[{“value”:”

Marvel Comics’ upcoming ten-part saga, “8 Deaths of Spider-Man,” will begin this November in Amazing Spider-Man #61. In celebration, acclaimed artist Skottie Young provides variant covers for each part, showcasing different ways to eliminate the shrunken Web-Slinger.

Marvel has unveiled Young’s first three variant covers, which shrink Spider-Man and kill him like a bug. A Daily Bugle newspaper, a can of insecticide, and a good old-fashioned boot squash are all employed to the artist’s end. Joe Kelly and Ed McGuinness’ “8 Deaths of Spider-Man” arc will begin on November 13, featuring the first variant cover before the arrival of Amazing Spider-Man #62 a fortnight later on November 27. The saga will continue in Amazing Spider-Man #63 and #64, which hit comic book shelves in December.

Marvel’s “8 Deaths of Spider-Man” description reads, “The 8 deaths of Spider-Man begin! The world has changed. Doctor Doom is Sorcerer Supreme, but he has no plans to spend his time like his predecessor. Each year, Doctor Strange would use every ounce of his power and experience to save the world from an evil god and his scions. This year, Doom is delegating this task to Spider-Man?! The leader of Latveria has given Spider-Man a new, magic-powered suit and eight extra lives with which to save (!?) the world. True believers, they won’t be enough.”

Marvel’s New Spider-Man Series

Marvel Comics recently revealed a prequel comic book series for Marvel Animation’s upcoming Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, debuting later this year. The five-issue limited series, which arrives on December 11, will introduce a young Peter Parker, his supporting cast, and some of his most iconic villains. The series will lay plenty of groundwork for the adventures in the hotly anticipated animated series that chronicles Peter’s earliest days as Marvel’s premiere superhero. Christos Gage wrote Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man with art by Eric Gapstur. Leonardo Romero designed the first issue cover for the series.

Wolverine and His Worst Enemies Spill Blood in New First Look

Wolverine’s limited series sends him to a brutal confrontation with two of his most iconic enemies – and there is little hope of survival.

Guage teased what to expect from Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. “I’ve had the privilege of writing a lot of Spider-Man Adventures, both in comics and in the Insomniac video games, but one thing I’ve never gotten the chance to do is recount his earliest exploits,” he said. “And the exciting part about this book is it’s a brand-new take on those formative times. While this is definitely Peter Parker, the Spidey we know and love, he’s got a new cast of supporting characters – including Nico Minoru, who you may know from Runaways – and some surprising twists.”

Joe Kelly and Ed McGuiness’ “8 Deaths of Spider-Man” saga will begin in Amazing Spider-Man #61, which arrives on November 13, 2024.
