DC Comics and Funko Pop will celebrate a legendary achievement for the comic book character Batman, who is receiving both a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star and Guinness World Records title. An event is planned later this month to honor The Dark Knight, with Jim Lee scheduled to participate and meet fans.
On Thursday, Sept. 26, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce will honor Batman with the 2,790th star on the legendary Hollywood Walk of Fame, making Batman the first superhero character to receive a star. DC president, publisher and chief creative officer, Jim Lee, and DC’s senior vice president and general manager Anne DePies will attend the ceremony where Batman, in character costume, will receive the prestigious star.
DC Gives Batman His Very Own Iron Man Armor
DC introduces Batman’s newest high-tech armor — and it eerily resembles Iron Man’s classic MCU suit.
The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. PT and will also see Batman awarded the Guinness World Records title for being the first superhero to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Other notable Guinness World Records titles surrounding the Batman franchise include Detective Comics as the longest-running comic book, having been continuously published since 1938, and a 2012 award that deemed Batman the most adapted comic book character in live-action movies. Guinness World Records also recognized Batman as having the “most Oscar winners to play one superhero”, with George Clooney, Christian Bale and Ben Affleck all portraying the character.
The ceremony on Sept. 26 will also have an all-day fan event at the Funko Hollywood store. Warner Bros. Archives will also stage a curated pop-up museum of props and costumes throughout Batman’s history in film and TV at Funko Hollywood. Jim Lee is scheduled to participate in an exclusive one-hour meet and greet and signing for Batman fans at Funko Hollywood from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The exclusive signing will be limited to fans who receive a wristband for the event.

One of the most important figures in Hal Jordan’s life becomes a superhero herself — and she’s perfect for the role.
Wristbands for the Jim Lee signing will be distributed to the first 100 fans to purchase a Batman product at Funko Hollywood on Tuesday, Sept. 24 — two days before the Hollywood Walk of Fame event. Funko notes that no outside products are permitted, and wristbands will be one per person on a first-come, first-served basis. Fans can line up for the signing at 9:00 AM.
