McFarlane Toys has announced a new resin statue of The Joker based on an iconic comic cover with art by Neal Adams. Pre-orders for the statue will launch tomorrow.
In a first look posted on the McFarlane Toys X (formerly Twitter) account, The Joker can be seen menacingly holding a playing guard with Batman on it. The iconic Batman villain’s signature laugh is also part of the statue, with the words “Hahaha” featured in a bold, comic script. McFarlane Toys revealed that the new Joker statue would be 1:10th in scale and is modeled after Neal Adam’s iconic comic cover of Batman #251, dated September 1973. Pre-orders are expected to be available tomorrow, Sept. 17, on McFarlaneToys.com and other select retailers.
DC Gives Batman His Very Own Iron Man Armor
DC introduces Batman’s newest high-tech armor — and it eerily resembles Iron Man’s classic MCU suit.
The New Joker statue joins McFarlane Toys’ long-running DC Direct line of figures and statues. Other collectible pieces that have recently been announced include a new Robin figurine from DC’s parallel world, Earth-2, and a series of Batman Cowl Replicas featuring Batman’s iconic appearances throughout film and comics.
McFarlane Toys’ new statue of The Joker is just one of many new collectible pieces being released in the months to come, coinciding with Joker: Folie a Deux‘s cinematic release on Oct. 4. The film stars Joaquin Phoenix as The Joker, with Lady Gaga taking on the role of Harley Quinn. The movie is being described as a “musical psychological thriller” and is a sequel to the 2019 Joker film.
Green Lantern: A DC Icon Figures Out What it Means to be a Hero
One of the most important figures in Hal Jordan’s life becomes a superhero herself — and she’s perfect for the role.
FavorGK, a toy company specializing in high-end resin anime statues, announced a special scale figure is also being released to coincide with the new Joker film, re-imainging Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker character as a toddler in a collectible figurine. The McFarlane Toys’ statue, while not directly related to The Joker films, depicts the character in one of his most iconic comic book representations. McFarlane Toys also unveiled a brand-new DC Direct Christmas Joker figurine inspired by Batman: The Animated Series last month, which is now available at Target stores.
Pre-orders for the McFarlane Toys Joker scale resin statue will launch on Sept. 17.
