When CBR made the exclusive announcement of Venom War: Wolverine, co-writer Tim Seeley noted, “I’m teaming with my Local Man co-writer Tony Fleecs to bring some of that nostalgic magic to Wolverine and Venom just in time for Logan’s 50th anniversary, which feels very appropriate. We wanted to do something that would have blown our minds as kids, but also tell a dark and honest story about a guy who has spent too much of his life as someone else’s weapon, and how dealing with the Venom symbiote, which can bring out its victims worst impulses, honestly scares the living hell out of him. I think that’s what’s made Wolverine compelling for so long…he’s not afraid to die. He’s afraid to kill someone who didn’t deserve it.”
Venom War: Wolverine #1 is from Seeley, co-writer Tony Fleecs, artist Kev Walker, and colorist Javier Tartaglia, and it brings the iconic mutant into the conflict between Eddie Brock and his son, Dylan, over the control of the Venom symbiote, and New York is being overrun by symbiotes in the middle of the conflict.

Here, we see what happens when a group of young adults run into Wolverine at a pool hall.
Meanwhile, though, one of the teens is attacked by a symbiote, and it is clear that Wolverine is next!
