Like during San Diego Comic-Con, fans have their eyes on DC Comics‘ upcoming All-In initiative and the new Absolute universe it will spawn — with the mainline Justice League getting a new member out of it. Recently, key creators for the DC publishing initiative have been sharing vague previews of panels coming from the DC All-In Special #1 one-shot releasing on October 2, 2024.
From Scott Snyder (who is helming the upcoming Absolute Batman ongoing series alongside artist Nick Dragotta) to Superman writer Joshua Williamson, these panels have showcased Justice League members. Most recently, Williamson shared on social media a panel hinting at a new Justice League member entering the fold.

There’s been plenty of drumroll for the upcoming DC Comics All-In launch and what the Absolute universe will do to shake up the conventional canon of beloved DC heroes. Following the aftermath of the Absolute Power crossover event that sees the heroic pantheon face off against Amanda Waller’s Trinity of Evil, DC All-In Special #1 will throw in Darkseid for good measure, leading to the seismic event that will create the Absolute universe. The Justice League is finally getting a refresh in the main continuity as well, with Williamson’s post building even more excitement for its new mystery member.
The one-shot comic will feature artwork from the talented Daniel Sampere and Wes Craig, with the panel shared by Williamson depicting a mysterious hero emerging from a crash-landing-like scene. Keeping within the theme of earlier previews, the writer says “A new member of the Justice League is going All In!”
Fans Are Getting a New Justice League Ongoing Plus The Absolute Universe
On top of getting a new League member, longtime fans will be eager to see what’s in store for the 64-page one-shot. That’s especially true since it’s finally giving the team the spotlight in the form of Mark Waid and Dan Mora’s upcoming Justice League Unlimited comic book series. The name is an homage to the DC Animated Universe series of the same name.
Waid is one of the most celebrated writers in modern comic book history, credited with acclaimed DC works like his The Flash run and Kingdom Come, and beloved Marvel runs like Fantastic Four and Daredevil. Meanwhile, Mora is one of the most exciting comic book artists today, recently working with Waid on comics like the Batman and Superman team-up book World’s Finest.
Beyond DC All-In Special #1, fans can look forward to the new Absolute universe’s takes on Batman with Snyder and Dragotta, Jason Aaron and Rafa Sandoval’s Superman, and Kelly Thompson and Hayden Sherman’s Wonder Woman. Previews of the new redesigns and synopses have sparked intrigue and speculation, with some fans likening this new canon to Marvel’s Ultimate universe. Exciting times are ahead for DC, and they won’t have long to wait before they kick off with DC All-In Special #1.
