G.I. Joe Battles Cobra Commander for Springfield in New First Look

Skybound has revealed a first look at variant cover art and interior pages from G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #310. The new issue marks the beginning of the battle for Springfield.

Series writer Larry Hama (Marvel’s Wolverine) is joined by guest artist Paul Pelletier (Aquaman) and Tony Kordos (Batman & Robin Eternal) for the issue, with colors by Francesco Segala (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers). Skybound revealed that the issue would arrive with a main cover by Andy Kubert as well as a black and white variant and the concluding piece in a 1:10 cover series by Brad Walker and Francesco Segala. G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #310 goes on sale Sept. 18.

Skybound’s first look at interior pages from G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #310 begins in Springfield, with Cobra Commander launching a plan that endangers the town as the conflict between the G.I. Joes and Cobra reaches new heights. Zartan and the Baroness agree that Destro must be informed of what is going on, while elsewhere in Springfield, Snake Eyes‘ Dawn Moreno seeks retribution for her fallen parents.

Skybound and G.I. Joe Wrap History-Making Kickstarter Campaign

Skybound and Hasbro recently concluded a history-making campaign with their Kickstarter-exclusive G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero Compendium Set. The campaign allowed fans to collect every issue of the original 1982 comic book series across four definitive hardcover compendiums, with tie-ins and out of print stories also included in the collection.

Skybound shares new details about its 2025 YA Graphic Novel lineup, including the conclusion to Tillie Walden’s The Walking Dead series, Clementine.

During the campaign, fans could purchase two distinct versions of the set, one sporting G.I. Joe-themed art and another featuring the villainous Cobra. The box sets included exclusive G.I. Joe and Cobra collectible trading cards that featured art, with fans voting on the final three cards. The campaign ended up raising $3.7 million from over 10,000 backers, earning it the title of the most-funded comics Kickstarter of all time.
