One of the notable aspects of Miles Morales’ character from the moment he debuted over a decade ago was that Miles was half-Black/half-Puerto Rican, and in this year’s Miles Morales: Spider-Man Annual #1, Miles and his family are going on a family vacation together to Puerto Rico for Miles to spend time with his grandmother (who recently moved back to Puerot Rico), and also meet some relatives Miles has never even HEARD of before! CBR has an exclusive preview of the Annual (which we previously had shared a “First Look” of last month), including one page from each of the backup stories in the annual, including an explanation for why Miles meets up with Storm in the annual this year, as well (and Bloodline, Blade’s daughter, to boot)!

Miles Morales: Spider-Man Annual #1 is from a trio of creative teams. The main story is by the regular writer on Miles Morales: Spider-Man, Cody Ziglar, working with David Baldeón, colorist Dono Sánchez-Almara, and letterer Cory Petit, while the Storm-centric backup is from writer Curtis Baxter, artist Alitha E. Martinez, colorist Ceci De La Cruz, and letterer Cory Petit, and the Bloodline-centric backup is from writer Danny Lore, artist Elena Casagrande, colorist Dee Cunniffe, and letterer Cory Petit.

In the preview pages, we see Miles Morales land ahead of his family, and meet up with some teenagers in Puerto Rico before his grandmother calls him to go see her right away.

In the preview page of the Storm-centric backup story, we see that there is a hurricane in Puerto Rico, and so Miles seeks out Storm to see if she will help him out with the hurricane.

In the preview page of the Bloodline-centric backup story, we see Miles dealing with the fact that he is now a vampire (this is in a different timeline than the rest of the stories) by visiting Bloodline for help.
