McFarlane Toys unveiled a new Azrael Batman Armor figure, available now from their DC Multiverse line of toys. The figure’s design is based on Azrael’s character design from Batman: Knightsend.

The new figure launched on McFarlane Toys’ EQL, promising a fair and equal launch for all interested fans. The figure is a 7″ fully detailed figure of Azrael, complete with intricately designed wings, gauntlets, a special blue and red cowl and gold-accented armor. The Azrael figure is listed as one of McFarlane Toys‘ Platinum Edition figures, and the EQL launch is for a special chase variant with blue wings. The webpage where fans can enter to purchase the figure reveals that it will be sold for $22.99 to those who are selected as part of the EQL launch’s lottery.

The regular version of the Azrael figure features red wings and is currently sold out on the McFarlane Toys website. Other Azrael figures sold by the toy maker include a White Knight vs. Azrael multipack, and Azrael’s Batman Armor from Batman: Curse of the White Knight. Other DC Multiverse figures recently revealed by McFarlane Toys include an Armored Batman from The Dark Knight, a Batman/Superman Fusion from World’s Finest, and figures of Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman inspired by the art of Jim Lee.

The new McFarlane Toys figure spotlights one of the times in DC Comics history when Jean-Paul Valley, also known as Azreal, stole the show from Bruce Wayne in the Batman: Knightfall story arc. Released from 1993-1994, Knightfall consisted of three parts: “Knightfall”, “Knightquest” and “Knightsend”. Bruce Wayne was replaced by his apprentice, Azrael, who became increasingly unstable and tarnished Batman’s pristine legacy over the course of the comic series.
