[[{“value”:”
DC Comics has announced a new comic book series, Justice League Unlimited, at San Diego Comic-Con. A promotional image and cover art for the first issue were all shown to attendees at the con.
Justice League Unlimited will be written by Mark Waid and will feature art by Dan Mora. Images posted by AIPT of the Absolute Power Panel, which announced the new title, show the new Justice League team in action. Batman appears to have a powerful super suit and is joined by Wonder Woman and Superman. Other heroes shown in the art include Green Lantern’s Star Sapphire, Black Lightning, The Flash, and Captain Atom. Also included in the artwork for the series is Darkseid, who will likely serve as the villain of Justice League Unlimited. The exact release date for the new series has not been announced at this time.
The Last Hope for the DC Universe is One of Its Oldest – And Worst – Villains
The Green Arrow family are officially hunting down one of DC’s oldest villains, and he might be the only one who can save the entire world.
Two covers for the first issue of Justice League Unlimited were also shared, showing the new team in action at the Watchtower. One of the covers also clearly shows Martian Manhunter among the other Justice League members. Concept art by Dan Mora of the Watchtower was also shown, including its various rooms and zones, like the ‘Quarters of Solitude’, the ‘Phantom Zone’, and the ‘Security Officer’s Quarters’.
The announcement of the new Justice League team ushers in a new era for DC Comics following the events of the publisher’s Absolute Power blockbuster summer event. With Amanda Waller seeking to rid the world of all metahuman powers — from heroes and villains alike — the Justice League and other DC heroes had to unite to stop her. In the wake of Absolute Power, DC’s new publishing initiative, DC All-In, will begin, and Justice League Unlimited will be a part of it.

DC’s last Justice League series began in 2018 and ran until 2022, spawning 75 issues. The Legion of Doom and Justice League Dark also starred in the series alongside the Justice League. The final issue of the series was written by Joshua Williamson and saw the ‘death’ of the Justice League, with the team being killed by the cosmic beings known as the Dark Army. A sole survivor remained, desperate to warn the other heroes on Earth of the incoming threat and launching the Dark Crisis event.
More details about Justice League Unlimited are expected to follow in the coming weeks.
